Unique Craftsman home on an elevated corner lot in one of the hottest neighborhoods in Atlanta. This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home has outdoor space galore and many features that are not often found in this neighborhood such as a 3 car garage and rooftop deck! The two bedrooms on the main floor connect to a 2nd kitchen with a separate entrance which lends itself perfectly to an in-law suite or an apartment. The main kitchen opens to the living room and features granite counters and stainless steel appliances. Huge master suite has rich mahogany floors, a separate tub and sky lit shower, private second story porch with rooftop access and skyline views in the winter. Amazing location that’s only 1.5 blocks from the park and a 10 minute walk to the Marta train station. Come see it for yourself!

Seller says…

“The view out the bay window is one of tall oaks with the city skyline in the distance and makes for great relaxation”

This home is truly an original, the creation of my husband who took a 900 square foot box and turned it into a spacious loft-like single family home that sits on a huge, landscaped corner lot with a fenced yard and an abundance of flowering trees, plants, and perennials. The house sits high above the street offering privacy and security, located just blocks from Candler Park and Freedom Park and ideal for get-togethers at Fellini’s, LaFonda, and Flying Biscuit.

Outdoor living areas expand the scale of the home. There’s a front porch, side porch, back porch and bar-b-cue area with stacked stone. Plus there’s a deck off the master suite with a wrought iron spiral staircase that leads to a rooftop deck that offers skyline views and is perfect for taking in sunsets with friends.

The spacious master suite takes up the entire second floor (approx.  800 sq ft) and features high, angled ceilings and bay window made up of 6’ tall casements and capped by triangular windows in the vault, with westward view. Newly installed flooring is a gorgeous vintage mahogany repurposed from an old building. The view out the bay window is one of tall oaks with the city skyline in the distance and makes for great relaxation, yoga or coffee in bed.  The large bathroom features an earthy tile design, open shower, skylight and oversized Jacuzzi tub.

The downstairs area features an open layout with the flexibility to fashion spaces for sitting and entertaining or a well-lit office suite with bay window. The kitchen has granite countertops, hardwood floors, and an octagonal window at the breakfast bar.

Another interesting feature of the house is that the downstairs bedrooms and one bathroom can be closed off to form a fully functional apartment with separate entrance and full kitchen for a roommate, family member, or Air B&B rental. The 875 sq ft garage allows for two cars parked and a shop or studio for hobbyists. There’s a separate storage shed for mower, lawn tools, etc., as well.

Located in the Edgewood community, the house is a mile from the Edgewood Shopping District, a few blocks from the Candler Park/Edgewood MARTA station, L5P, Carter and King Centers, 3 miles from Emory and the CDC, 1 mile from Interstate 20, 5 minutes from Interstates 75/85, and 10 minutes from either downtown Atlanta or Decatur.

My husband’s goal with the addition was to “marry” the old house to a new structure and make it be one complete home. All new walls were built using 2×6’s for added insulation. The windows were replaced with state-of-the-art Argon filled insulated windows that let the sun shine in and the weather out. An old sewing room of the original house was paneled floor to ceiling in heart pine paneling. It was taken down, resurfaced and installed as wainscoting throughout the living room and foyer to bring the old into the new modern part of the home. The layout of the home offers passive air flow from lower windows up the open stairwell and out the windows upstairs. If you like fresh air this house breathes well. It you like character in a home, you’ll love this one.

It was a pleasure working with Marc. He took our needs/wants into consideration to locate a variety of properties. He went above and beyond to help us find the perfect home.

Marc definitely is an expert in Real Estate, especially In-town area. He is very professional, easy to talk to and he is with you during the whole process till the end and beyond. We purchased our home more than 2 years ago, but we always call him for an expert opinion.

You will enjoy working with him.

In January I referred Marc to a very dear friend who inherited her Aunt's 130 year old home. In weeks Marc had a contract, and then a back-up contract. Impressive; especially because the first two real estate agents my friend spoke with said that she should have the historic home demolished and sell the property as a parking lot. My friend adores Marc, and I appreciate the respect he brought to her family home.

Marc has the experience to see through the noise that is the local real estate market to get you not only the best price on selling your home but also the home that suits you best for you to then move in to. We know, we used him to sell and buy our last two homes.

The home we sold went under contract in 30 days if that tells you anything about his talent as a listing agent. The home we then bought was not only a perfect fit for us but was wanted by at least 3 other buyers the day after we had our offer in. Marc was quick and nimble in getting us through both the sale and buy. He brought a soothing calm when things got a little hectic. He negotiated with skill and got us the best prices on both sides of our deals. I would use Marc again but most of all I would recommend him to anyone that needed a savvy gentleman to help them with their real estate needs.

Marc knows the area (East Atlanta Village and surrounding neighborhoods) better than just about anyone. There are few houses that he hasn't stepped foot in! He knows the ups, downs and trends for each as he has been well connected with area residents, businesses, and community groups for quite some time.

I was a seller, but I believe that Marc is just what a buyer needs as well - a well informed, personable champion looking out for your best interests.

We had a great experience with Marc. We were particularly impressed with his knowledge of the neighborhoods we were interested in, including architectural styles and history. He understood what we were looking for and came up with smart ideas for finding it.

Marc is extremely knowledgeable about the intown Atlanta market and its quirks. He is a true professional and works hard to help his clients find the property that they want and need.

Marc knew the neighborhood I was interested in as well or better than anyone I've met, and lives there as well. His enthusiasm for the community and knowledge of micro-locations within it was incredibly helpful in moving through the process. Negotiations were fairly quick and easy and the process as a whole was as stress-free as I can imagine these things get.

My wife and I used Marc and just closed on our first home. He made the process easy from start to finish. We were working with a limited budget and he was able to find us exactly what we wanted in a great location. I would certainly recommend Marc to anyone looking to buy a house in the Atlanta area. His schedule is flexible (nights/weekends) and he really made us feel comfortable from the first time we met. Thanks Marc!!!

There aren’t enough good things you can say about Marc and his team. We had a complicated closing and contract due to our house being a new build. I am so thankful we had an agent who was extremely experienced and knew what to do in every situation. Marc genuinely cared about our circumstances and our family more than “selling a home” and getting his cut.
